Howdy Woodturners of COW!   A big greeting and virtual hug to all of you from your newest club officer (VP - gulp) Leslie Nielsen.

    SUMMER GET TOGETHER EVENT!!

A get together is set up for August 7th, to be held at Beall Tool Company in Newark, Ohio.  Times will be 10am to 3pm.  The location offers many different areas including a large outside area where we can set up food.  If you'd like to come but are uncomfortable sharing food, please feel free to bring your own lunchbag!  If you are comfortable with picnic family style, please bring a dish to share.  There are many different spaces so maintaining social distancing will be easy to do and while many in our age group are vaccinated, you are encouraged to bring your mask if you are uncomfortable for any reason.  If you feel best wearing it, you are welcome to do that!   Other details are still being ironed out, but plan on bringing a bag chair as well.

I'd love to put it on the club event calendar but even with my newfound website powers, I found no way to do that!   (Ok, perhaps I just couldn't figure it out....)

I look forward to seeing ALL of you at Beall Tool Company, 541 Swans Road NE, Newark, Ohio on August 7th!

    Sincerely,

Leslie Nielsen (ps  ladies...  any interest in being WIT representative?  Let me know at 419-566-4665 text first!).

    Subject: George memorial celebration

Date: June 26, 2021 at 12:01:08 PM EDT

    Dear friends:

We are gathering on Saturday, August 28 at the Fawcett Center at OSU to celebrate George’s life. (Directions: https://www.fawcettcenter.com/page/directions)

We'll start with a little ceremony of sorts at 10am, where people will share stories about him, then segue into a reception with food, drink and more stories, running to 2pm.

If you wish, please wear something that identifies how you know him — a tee-shirt from a place you volunteered together, a cycling jersey, OSU gear, scrubs if you were one of his caretakers, etc — or come as you are. We're aiming for casual and friendly — just like George! Members of TBDBITL will be on hand for music!

If you could indicate your interest in coming via return email

(or, if you’re on FB, via the event link: https://www.facebook.com/events/457745241928279/?acontext=%7B%22event_action_history%22%3A[%7B%22extra_data%22%3A%22%22%2C%22mechanism%22%3A%22your_upcoming_events_unit%22%2C%22surface%22%3A%22bookmark%22%7D%2C%7B%22extra_data%22%3A%22%22%2C%22mechanism%22%3A%22your_upcoming_events_unit%22%2C%22surface%22%3A%22bookmark%22%7D]%2C%22ref_notif_type%22%3Anull%7D)

that will help us plan adequate refreshments.

So glad we are able to come together to honor his social personality and giving nature!

    Michelle

It's annual meeting time. We made it through the most unusual year the club has ever experienced, and in many ways, we have grown in spite of our challenges. We have several new members, and we've found a way to keep up our special programming schedule via ZOOM allowing local as well as faraway participants to join in our demonstrations. Please join us Tuesday evening on ZOOM as early as 6:30pm at the following link.

     https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88910400389?pwd=bjZLSjVXWFJWZjJFQ3VlY2kyaThidz09

    • The ZOOM meeting starts at 6:30pm for socializing and catching up.
    • The business meeting starts at 7:00pm. The minutes of last year's Annual Meeting can be found at the end of this letter. Let Mary Anne know, if there appear to be any necessary corrections.
    • We invite new members to come and stay so that you can introduce yourselves at the end of the regular meeting and share show-'n-tell timewith folks who want to display what they've been working on during our break from in-person gatherings.
    • Please feel free to email or call me for clarifications: Secretary, Mary Anne Harsh, maryanneharsh@gmail.com or (740) 398-4122.
