Since 2006, Barbara has focused on multi-axis turning as it became her passion to make her candlesticks more interesting.  She has written books on the subject, created a DVD and has a YouTube channel.

Barbara was quiet for a while, but is now returning to teaching her techniques.  In October, our former VP Tom Robbins, took a class from her at Arrowmont and said he is looking forward to seeing her again for this meeting.

You can learn more about Barbara at her website, Barbara Dill, Woodturner.

Glenn Lucas is one of the best internationally known bowl turners from "across the pond" in Ireland.  From Glenn's website:

Glenn Lucas has an international reputation for his proficiency at the lathe and his ability to pass on to students, the skills and knowledge he has gained. He balances his production of classic bowls turned from native Irish wood (set up in 1995), with an extensive teaching programme run from his County Carlow ‘Woodturning Study Centre’ (since 2005) in rural south-east Ireland.

In January 2021, in the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, Glenn moved into a purpose-designed woodturning training centre. Unable to have students visit the centre in person, he has a dedicated Zoom-room and runs a busy private tuition schedule as well as a remote demonstration programme to clubs and groups using high-definition cameras to show every turning and tool detail. ‘It’s just like being there, without the jet lag!’  Since August 2021 the woodturning centre has welcomed small classes of woodturners (maximum 6 in a class) on 3-day, 5-day and private one-day classes.

Please note: Due to the time difference, this is going to be a Saturday morning presentation.  This will be in lieu of our regular Tuesday evening meeting for the month of April.
